Matthew Matt James was born in North Carolina on December 5 1991. Parents are Manny James, and Patty James. He is the son of Nigerian and his mother caucasian American. In 2010 he graduated from Sanderson High School and furthered into Wake Forest University where he completed a bachelor's in economics in 2015. James was a household name as he made his television debut as an on-screen reality show star on The Bachelorette. James was selected in the year 2020 as the bachelor of the year on The Bachelor season 25, which was the first season to feature an African American male star. The series premiered later that year. James's height, looks and personality made him a good fit for the role. Rachael krkconnell was chosen to play his partner during the duration of. In season 30, (in 2021) of Dancing with the Stars, James competed alongside dancer Arnold. James as well as Arnold placed 12th.
